To get the best experience and longest burning time from your candle, follow these helpful tips:

Lean the candle slightly at an angle and then light the wick by placing the flame at the point where the wax meets the wick.

Burn for a minimum of 1 hour and a maximum of 4.

For an even burn, do not put out the candle until there is a full layer of molten wax.

To stop burning safely, use a candle snuffer or a wick dipper. This will extinguish the flame with minimum smoke. If you prefer, you can also blow it out with caution, but this method ends your candle experience with soot and smoke instead of the scented environment you created while burning the candle.

If the wick is longer than 5mm, trim it before relighting. This keeps your scented candle in good burning shape and prevents the wicks from clogging up, releasing black smoke or soot. Only trim the wick when the candle is at room temperature. Do not trim the wicks too short as this will affect its performance.

Safety First

While scented candles provide a relatively small flame, it is still important to follow a few basic safety precautions. Never leave your scented candle unattended or in a draft. Let it stand on a protective surface to prevent heat damage to furniture should the candle reach the end of its burn. Keep the candle well clear of children, pets and flammable substances.

Even Burn

For an even burn, it is important to always let your scented candle burn long enough that there is a layer of liquid wax across the top (between two and four hours), especially the first time you use your candle. This prevents the scented candle from tunnelling. That happens when only the part around the wick melts, but the wax towards the outside of the scented candle is still solid when you extinguish your candle. Once the wax sets like this, it will simply melt down the candle in a tunnel on subsequent burns, and the outside layer will largely remain solid and unused. Keep your scented candle from drafts to prevent the flame from sputtering or wavering, which can also lead to an uneven burn.

Cool Storing

Keep your scented candle in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. If it gets too hot, it may melt and lose its scent and shape, which may diminish the quality of your experience. Similarly, avoid it getting too cold or frozen. If it does, simply allow the candle to return to room temperature before lighting.
