We are Maxine Hyndman and Elisa Valdinocci, founders of PHOEHN. It is our pleasure to welcome you to our home, Phoehn, a new kind of candle company. One that is based on artistry, handcraft, passion and personalization.

Elisa and I are motivated by a desire to reawaken the magic that is “Made in Italy” while at the same time reawakening the light and magic within each of us.

With a passion for scent and a desire to create timeless home accessories, Maxine embarked on a 3 year journey to learn perfumery from a perfume master, Isabelle Gellé of the Perfumery Art School. That was 2013. It is from here that the journey of customization began. Choose any unique, hand made, mouth blown or ceramic candle vessel that expresses the qualities of your home. You choose the candle fragrance that best expresses how you want to feel in your space.

We don’t live our lives based on top, middle and base notes, that is why each new scent designed is based on a story. A story of how we have lived and want to remember, are living or of how we aspire to live our lives.

Maxine’s creative aesthetic and love of scent were matched by Elisa’s passion for business, the details that turn a dream into a reality. After almost 30 years helping her husband run a successful business Elisa has the talent for the details that can make a dream a reality.

For us, the perfect alchemy of wax, vessel, wick and fragrance culminated in the ideal blend of glass, soy wax, organic beeswax and luxury scents that are the signature of each Phoehn candle.

Our company, Phoehn, is a venture that offers new vistas for the creation of beautiful accessories for your modern home.
